The Next Day - Tuesday

Picture of the Day
Luke and Ivy hugging at the Civil Office building

The next day we had to get up early so we could finish eating before we had to go to Lanzhou City Civil Offices to register the adoption. More later.

Well, isn't it just fabulous that you decided to take Ivy with you – for Luke’s sake. She sure shows a lot of empathy for her brother. I'm sure that Luke is thankful to have someone near his size to help cheer him up.

Do you know if he had any other toddlers to play with?

He didn't have any other toddlers in his home, just the foster parents. They were grandparent age, and I'm pretty sure the gave him A LOT of attention. But I don't know if he was around very many other kids his age. He likes to watch Ivy and copy what she does, though if she takes something that she wants, he starts telling her what for in Chinese baby babble. We think it is very cute, Ivy does not.

I believe that Chinese 'baby babble' and English 'baby babble' are derived from the same root language. Ivy is probably understanding Luke's babble as well as, if not better than, she understands our adult babble ;>)
